Biography

Mari Kira is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan. She completed her PhD at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. Dr. Kira is a faculty member in the Personality Social Contexts area at her university, where she focuses on psychological well-being, personality, and organizational psychology. Her research investigates adult psychological growth amidst work and life adversities, particularly how individuals can find meaning and foster well-being in challenging circumstances. Beyond her current role, she has served as a European Commission Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Kassel in Germany, and as an Academy Research Fellow at Aalto University School of Science in Finland. She has also worked as a senior researcher at the University of Giessen in Germany. Kira is affiliated with the Work, Identity, Wellbeing Lab, where she engages in research aimed at understanding the dynamics of personality and positive psychology in organizational settings.
