Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Maria Cherdantseva. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Maria received her B.Sc in 2013 and M.Sc. in 2015 from Novosibirsk State University. Her research project focused on the study of base metal sulfides and precious metal platinum group minerals in Cu-Ni-PGE deposits. She investigated the distribution patterns of trace elements in sulfide droplets found in gabbroid intrusions in Mongolia and Kazakhstan. Additionally, Maria served as president of the SGA Siberian Student Chapter for five years, organizing field trips related to mineral deposits in Russia. Upon graduating, she pursued opportunities in the industry and worked as an exploration geologist at Norilskgeologia, a subsidiary of Norilsk Nickel in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where she managed exploration research projects on Cu-porphyry deposits in the Russian Far East. Her research interests include magmatic petrology, mineralogy, ore geology, and field geology. Since joining CET in November 2019, she has focused on uncovering the cryptic role of volatiles in orthomagmatic systems, documenting textures and properties associated with magmatic mineralization.
