Biography

Maria Claudia Clemente is a Visiting Critic at Cornell University. She co-founded Labics in 2002 in Rome with Francesco Isidori and leads the firm's efforts in theoretical and applied research in architecture. Her work spans interior renovations and urban masterplans, addressing various scales of project complexity. Notable completed projects include Città del Sole (2016), MAST (2013), Obica (2003–16), and Italpromo e libardi associati (2004). She is currently engaged in projects such as the extension of Palazzo Diamanti in Ferrara and the masterplan for Cascina Merlata at Jacaranda School in Milan. Clemente is frequently invited to lecture and conduct design workshops at various Italian and international universities, such as Università La Sapienza, Università Roma Tre, and Tulane University. She graduated from Università La Sapienza in 1992 and received her Ph.D. in 1995 from the Faculty of Architecture.
