Biography

María Adelaida Escobar Trujillo is a lecturer in the Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies at the University of British Columbia. She is also exploring the historical women's emancipation movements in Latin America from the 1920s to the 1950s. Additionally, her teaching and research interests encompass transcultural interactions, contemporary Spanish literature, Latin American women filmmakers, and Theatre Performance Studies.
