Biography

Maria has been a lecturer in the DAN Department of Management and Organizational Studies since 2006. Before joining academia, she spent 16 years in the private sector, gaining diverse experience in industries such as manufacturing and hospitality. In her teaching career, she has developed and taught a wide range of courses predominantly in the field of Accounting. Her main areas of expertise are management accounting, performance management, and occupational fraud. Maria is passionate about providing students with international experiences; she coordinates the DAN Management Semester Abroad program, which allows third-year students to study at Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands. This unique faculty-led program includes a blend of courses from both Western and Radboud universities, along with field trips and cultural activities. Among the courses she teaches are Enterprise Risk Management, Professionalism and Ethics, Accounting Theory, Strategy, and Intermediate Accounting. She has received multiple awards for her excellence in teaching, and her professional designations include CPA, CGA, and ACCA.
