Biography

María de la Paz García is a Senior Lector II in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Yale University. She earned her Ph.D. in Foreign Language Education from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and holds an M.A. in Spanish Language Literature from the University of Cincinnati. Her teaching experience spans various colleges and universities in the Chicago area. Since joining Yale in 2007, she has taught elementary and intermediate Spanish courses and has been actively involved in the study abroad programs offered by Yale. Her research interests encompass Foreign Language Teaching Methodology, Curriculum Development, Virtual Exchange, Spanish Medical Professions, Technology, Cinema, and the Use of Children’s Literature at the undergraduate level.
