Biography

Maria joined King's College London as a Senior Lecturer in Statistics in August 2021. Prior to this, she served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Kent, and has experience as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs in New York. She holds a BSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics, an MBA in Financial Engineering from New York University’s Stern Business School, an MSc in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Michigan, and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Kent. Maria is a Fulbright Scholar and a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. She is actively involved in PhD admissions for the Statistics group and her research interests lie in Bayesian Nonparametric Methods, MCMC, Bayesian Regression, and their applications to time series models in macroeconomics and finance.
