Dr. Maria Luísa Leite is an Assistant Professor in Operative Dentistry and Dental Materials at the University of Saskatchewan. Currently, she is engaged in a Postdoctoral Research & Teaching Fellowship at UBC and has published numerous manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, securing research funding, including the Rafael Bowen Early-Stage Investigator Collaborative Research Award in 2022. Dr. Leite is a member of the Advancing Multifunctional Dental Biomaterials research cluster, focusing on developing smart dental materials with tailored properties for specific oral health needs, including biocompatibility and antimicrobial capabilities, addressing disorders related to craniofacial and dental tissues.
