Biography

Maria C. Mancebo is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. She obtained her B.A. from Providence College, her M.A. from Connecticut College, and her Ph.D. from Hofstra University. Dr. Mancebo completed her clinical internship at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York and a post-doctoral fellowship at the OCD Research Program at Brown University under the mentorship of Drs. Steven Rasmussen and Jane Eisen. Her primary research interests include the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based treatments for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and hoarding, particularly in community settings. Dr. Mancebo is also involved in developing behavioral interventions for treatment-resistant patients and improving long-term outcomes for individuals suffering from OCD and hoarding. She has received funding from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) for her work, including being a Co-Investigator in a prospective follow-up study of the long-term course of OCD. Additionally, she has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals covering various aspects of OCD and related disorders.
