Biography

Maria Plataki is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, with a focus on researching the effects of high-fat diets on obesity and acute lung injury. Her academic work contributes significantly to understanding the molecular mechanisms of respiratory health and the implications of obesity on respiratory diseases. Over the years, Dr. Plataki has published extensively in reputable journals, addressing critical issues such as lipid homeostasis in alveolar type II epithelial cells and the impact of mitochondrial health on aging and disease.
