Maria Prandini received her Ph.D. degree in Information Technology in 1998. She has held positions as a postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley from 1998 to 2000, as well as visiting positions at Delft University of Technology in 1998, Cambridge University in 2000, and UC Berkeley again in 2005, and ETH Zurich in 2006. In 2002, she became an assistant professor in automatic control at Politecnico di Milano, where she currently holds a full professorship. She was the IEEE CSS Vice-President for Conference Activities from 2016 to 2017 and currently serves as the IFAC Vice-President for Conferences for the triennium 2020-2023. Prandini will be the elected IFAC President for the triennium 2026-2029. In 2021, she acted as the program chair for the IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and is currently the co-general chair for the IEEE CDC 2024. Additionally, she serves as an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Network Systems and Automatica. In 2018, she was awarded the IEEE CSS Distinguished Member Award and was elevated to IEEE Fellow in 2020.
