Biography

Marian Gatzweiler is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh Business School. Her research focuses on how quantification metrics and tools actively shape organizing processes and policy responses to grand societal challenges. Marian emphasizes the role of numbers and visualizations in enhancing the understanding of knowledge, innovations, and accountability within practiced settings. Her fieldwork includes examining management practices during large-scale humanitarian crises and megaprojects. An interdisciplinary researcher, Marian draws from organization theory, science and technology studies, and economic sociology aimed at developing actionable insights for contemporary management and policy challenges.
