Biography

Marianne Adam is a retired Teaching Professor and Director of Undergraduate Nursing Education at Penn State Schuylkill. With over 30 years of experience as a nurse educator, she has taught various diploma and undergraduate graduate programs. In 2014, she joined the Nese College of Nursing, where she has contributed significantly to nursing education and practice. Adam holds a PhD from Penn State and a Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her teaching interests include Principles of Nursing Research, Evidence-Based Practice, and Professional Role Development. Adam's research focuses on chronic diseases such as heart failure and type 2 diabetes, as well as substance use disorder. She aims to address the stigma surrounding substance use and has actively participated in numerous conferences presenting her research. Additionally, she plays a pivotal role in mentoring nursing students in their professional identity development.
