Biography

Marianne Ailes is an Honorary Professor at the University of Bristol specializing in Medieval French literature and its intersections with medieval England. Her research interests primarily focus on chansons de geste and early vernacular chronicles, with a particular emphasis on crusade narratives. Ailes is actively engaged in editing and translating French texts, as well as conducting interpretative studies.
