Biography

Marianne Bol-Schoenmakers is a lecturer at the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS) at Utrecht University, where she is responsible for a majority of the educational activities in the field of toxicology. Marianne is also the chair of the bachelor exam committee for the Veterinary Faculty and a member of the Assessment Support Panel at the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS), where her activities focus on promoting reliable assessment methodologies. Beyond her educational responsibilities, she conducts research on the adverse effects of drugs, microplastics, and environmental chemicals on the immune system, particularly emphasizing the gut.
