Biography

Marie-Alix Pizzoccaro-Zilamy is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Twente. She received her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Montpellier in November 2017, specializing in Physical Chemistry and Materials. Her dissertation focused on the confinement and grafting of ionic liquids in mesoporous ceramic membranes for selective CO2 transport. Following her PhD, she joined the University of Twente in February 2018 as a postdoctoral researcher in the Inorganic Membrane group, where she has contributed to the development and testing of new porous hybrid silica membranes. Her research interests include water chemistry, ceramic membrane technology, and the use of poly(ethylene glycol) and phosphonic acid in mesoporous structures. Pizzoccaro-Zilamy has published several papers in her field and is active in the academic community. She is engaged with various organizations focused on inorganic membranes, contributing her expertise to advance knowledge in this area.
