Biography

Marie-Ange Janvier is a certified clinical engineer (CCE) working at Children’s Hospital Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa, Canada. She is a licensed professional engineer in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. In 2017, she was awarded the Early Career Achievement Award by the Canadian Medical Biological Engineering Society (CMBES). Janvier is a member of CMBES and the American College of Clinical Engineers (ACCE). She serves as the Chair of the Canadian Board of Examiners for Clinical Engineering Certification and chairs the Bilingual Affairs Committee for CMBES, Canada's principal society for biomedical engineering and technology. Additionally, Janvier is the North American Regional Group Representative on the Council of Societies for the International Federation of Medical Biological Engineering (IFMBE). She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Montreal/Polytechnique and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, where she graduated with honors. Janvier teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in the biomedical engineering program at the University of Ottawa as a part-time professor and serves as an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University's Department of Systems and Computer Engineering. In her spare time, she looks for ways to help developing countries through equipment donation.
