A professor at the Department of French Studies since 1990, Élisabeth Nardout-Lafarge completed her studies in France at the University of Limoges and obtained her Ph.D. from McGill University in 1987. She has taught for two years in the United States at Bennington College in Vermont. A specialist in contemporary Quebec literature, she has focused on the relationships between Quebec texts and French literature and the literary institution, having published numerous articles on these subjects. Her research also addresses the representation of war in literary texts, coordinating a special issue 'Wars, Texts, Memory' for the journal of French Studies.
