Marie-Eve Aubin-Tam obtained her Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from École Polytechnique de Montréal and a Diplôme d'Ingénieur from École Polytechnique de Paris. In 2008, she received her Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), focusing on protein-nanoparticle interactions. After her Ph.D., she remained at MIT for a postdoctoral position in single-molecule biophysics, where she studied ClpXP using optical tweezers. Since 2012, she has led a research group in the Bionanoscience department at TU Delft. Her research interests include synthetic biological materials, cell biology, and applications of living materials, studying the use of microorganisms to fabricate bio-based materials, as well as the mechanical processes in cell membranes. She teaches courses in Nanotechnology for the BSc Nanobiology program at TU Delft. Her publications have significantly contributed to the field of bionanoscience, particularly in the areas of bioprinting and the mechanics of living materials.
