Biography

Marie-Eve Mathieu is a full professor at the School of Kinesiology and Physical Activity Sciences (EKSAP) at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal. She is also a regular researcher at the Azrieli Research Center of CHU Sainte-Justine. Holding a B.Sc. in Kinesiology, she completed her master's and doctorate studies in Physical Activity Sciences at the University of Montreal, followed by a postdoctoral internship at Laval University. She has also worked as a visiting researcher in France, New Zealand, and Australia. Since 2020, she has held the Canada Research Chair in Physical Activity and Juvenile Obesity (level 2) after serving as a Junior 1 Scholar at the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé from 2016 to 2020. Her research at the Physical Activity and Health Laboratory (LAPS) focuses on how physical activity and the adoption of a healthy and active lifestyle can help in maintaining optimal weight and cardiometabolic health, especially for youth.
