Biography

Marie-Pier Côté has been an associate professor at the School of Actuarial Science since 2018 and holds the Chair of Leadership in Teaching in Big Data Analysis for Actuarial Science at the Intact Centre for Research on Massive Data. She obtained her doctorate in statistics from McGill University and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Her research work on statistical learning in actuarial science earned her the award for best article published in 2021 in the North American Actuarial Journal and the Patrick Brockett & Arnold Shapiro Award from the American Risk Insurance Association. She is particularly interested in algorithmic fairness in actuarial science and the statistical modeling of dependence and actuarial risks.
