Dr. Marie Thérèse Lussier

Biography

Marie-Thérèse Lussier is a full professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine at the University of Montreal, where she also serves as the Director of the Primary Care Research Network of the University of Montreal (RRSPUM) and leads the Primary Care Research Team at CISSS Laval. Her primary research focus is on analyzing the consultation process, particularly the communication between family physicians and patients. She also studies the management of chronic diseases in primary care, such as hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and asthma, as well as the use of information technologies to support healthcare teams. Moreover, she is a co-editor of the book 'Professional Communication in Health, 2nd Edition', published in January 2016, which includes contributions from various health professionals and communication experts. Over the past twenty years, she has published numerous scientific articles and outreach works. Lussier’s commitment to improving interactions between healthcare providers and patients is exemplified in her research and teaching activities, which aim to enhance the management of chronic conditions through effective communication and collaboration.
