Marie Clements-Baker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Queen’s University where she serves as the Program Director for the Rheumatology Residency Training Program. She joined the university as an Assistant Professor in 2014 after completing her Medical School training at McMaster University and subsequently her residency in Internal Medicine at Queen's University, followed by a Rheumatology residency at McMaster University, focusing on vasculitis. Dr. Clements-Baker is actively involved in the Canadian network for research on Vasculitides (CanVasc) and collaborates with the Vasculitis Clinical Research Consortium on various vasculitis projects. She provides general rheumatology clinics and manages a specialized General Vasculitis clinic as well as a rheumatology consultation service integrated with a kidney/glomerulonephritis clinic. Her significant research interests include the effects of diet on rheumatic diseases, antibody profiles in severe Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) patients with connective tissue disease (CTD), and the comparison of biosimilar treatments versus originator treatments in the context of ANCA-associated vasculitis. Prior to her medical career, she worked as a Registered Nurse and has a passion for teaching and education, which she continues to pursue in her role as the Rheumatology residency training program director. In her free time, Marie enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and engaging in outdoor activities such as cycling and skating.
