Dr. Marie Dutordoir

Biography

Marie Dutordoir is a Professor of Finance at the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. She earned her PhD in Applied Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, in 2006. During her doctoral studies, she spent her final year as a visiting scholar at Columbia Business School in New York. Since joining Manchester Business School in April 2009, Marie has held positions including Assistant Professor at the Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands, where her key research interests lie in corporate finance. Her work focuses on topics such as corporate securities issuance, mergers and acquisitions, the impact of short selling on corporate finance decisions, and corporate social responsibility. Marie has published scientific works in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics and the Journal of Operations Management and has presented her research at major international conferences. Additionally, she teaches on various corporate finance topics to undergraduate, master's, MBA, and PhD students and conducts workshops on time management for academics. She has supervised many PhD students on corporate finance topics and has served in leadership roles including Head of the Accounting Finance Division and Director of the Full-time MBA at AMBS.
