Dr. Marie Latortue

Biography

Marie Latortue is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry. She participates in comprehensive care and general dentistry clinical teaching for dental students while seeing patients at UT Dentists, the faculty practice of the School of Dentistry. She earned her DDS from Haiti State University School of Dentistry in 2000 and graduated with a postdoctoral fellowship from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 2011. In addition, she received advanced education in prosthodontics at New York University College of Dentistry between 2011 and 2013. Before joining the faculty at UTHealth Houston, Dr. Latortue taught for four years at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, which was previously known as Baylor College of Dentistry, in the Public Health Sciences Department. Her research interests revolve around preventive oral health care maintenance for patients who have undergone treatment for head and neck cancer, and she is involved in predental assessments for patients diagnosed with head and neck cancer. Dr. Latortue is fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole.
