Dr. Marie Tremblay Laliberté

Biography

Marie Tremblay-Laliberté is an Assistant Professor at the Université de Montréal in the School of Design. She holds a doctorate in Arts Studies and Practices from the Université du Québec à Montréal, a Master's in Planning with a focus on Design and Complexity, and a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the Université de Montréal. Tremblay-Laliberté has been teaching Interior Design programs since 2009, leveraging her ten years of professional experience in the field, which includes numerous commercial and residential projects. She has also worked as a freelance journalist, contributing articles to specialized media in the fields of planning and interior design. Her research interests focus on the sensitive and lived experience of design language elements and the role of the body in the relationship between individuals and the built environment. She emphasizes a sensitive approach to design that encourages students to directly engage with design elements such as light, materials, volumes, and color in an experiential way. Her research includes exploring the influence of light as a phenomenon that affects well-being and the experience of space.
