Biography

Marieke Dhont is an affiliated lecturer at the Faculty of Divinity, University of Cambridge, and a teaching associate for the Cambridge Foundation Year. She holds a Master's degree in Classics and Cultural Studies from KU Leuven (Belgium) and a joint doctorate in Theology from UC Louvain and Religious Studies at KU Leuven, where she completed her dissertation on the Septuagint Job, published as 'Style and Context of Old Greek Job' by Brill in 2018. Marieke has held prestigious fellowships, including a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Cambridge (2018-2021) and a Center for Hellenic Studies Fellowship at Harvard University (2021-2022). Currently, she is a FWF Esprit Postdoctoral Fellow at Paris Lodron University, Salzburg, until 2027. Her research interests include Hellenistic Judaism, Hebrew Bible in the Hellenistic period, and Jewish-Greek literature, employing sociolinguistics and contemporary theories of culture, literature, and translation. Marieke teaches Elementary and Advanced New Testament Greek and supervises undergraduate and MPhil/PhD students in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament.
