Biography

Marieke Toffolo is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She has developed and coordinated four courses: 'Psychopathology Prevention', 'Diversity Clinical Practice', 'Psychological Interventions for Complex Disorders', and 'Street Psychology'. Toffolo has been awarded the NRO Commenius Teaching Fellow grant for her innovative contributions to curriculum development within the Faculty of Behavior and Movement Sciences. Her research primarily focuses on treatments for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders, including conducting effectiveness research on online interventions based on the Inference Based Approach (IBA) for individuals with OCD. She collaborates with Dr. Tara Donker on research pertaining to Virtual Reality self-help applications for specific phobias. Additionally, she is engaged with the MetaPsy ReConnected consortiums in her department.
