Professor Dr. Marijana Vukovic

Biography

Marijana Vukovic is affiliated with the University of Southern Denmark, specializing in Medieval Literature and Medieval Studies. Her research includes Early Christian and Late Antique studies, Comparative Hagiography, and Byzantine Slavic studies. Vukovic has contributed significantly to the field through various projects focused on Byzantine Hagiography and manuscript studies, exploring the textual transmission of hagiographical texts and their implications on cultural narratives. As a guest lecturer, she has presented at numerous conferences and has been involved in projects aimed at retrieving and understanding forgotten Byzantine literature. Vukovic is an active participant in collaborative research efforts across Europe, engaging with both historical texts and contemporary interpretations. Her notable recent works examine the narrative structures in medieval texts and their socio-cultural contexts, particularly within the Slavic region.
