Biography

Marilyn Pattillo is an Adjunct/Clinical Affiliate at the University of Texas at Austin's School of Nursing. She taught a post September 11 Disaster Nursing course and has teaching interests that include gerontology, adult health nursing, disaster nursing, advanced health assessment, and long-term care. Additionally, she is a retired U.S. Air Force military officer who serves as the Deputy Commander of the Central Region National Nurse Response Team (NNRT), which is an integral part of the National Medical Disaster System, mobilized during disasters. With over 20 years of volunteer experience with the American Red Cross, she has taught multiple classes on disaster preparedness for health care providers in the event of a bioterrorism attack. She holds a Ph.D. in disaster nursing, focusing on health care during bioterrorism attacks, gerontology, and long-term health care.
