Biography

Marilyne Andersen is a Full Professor in Sustainable Construction Technologies at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where she heads the Laboratory of Integrated Performance Design (LIPID). She is also the Director General of the Geneva Science Diplomacy Anticipator foundation, which focuses on anticipating scientific discoveries to benefit society. Her research integrates elements from various disciplines, including chronobiology, neuroscience, and architectural design, aiming to improve indoor environments through better daylighting performance. Passionate about teaching, she has guided many PhD students and is actively involved in innovative projects to transition energy systems in Switzerland. As an expert on sustainability, she has contributed to several foundations and advisory boards in the field.
