Dr. Marina Evangelou

Biography

Marina Evangelou is a Reader in the Statistics Section of the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London. Her research interests lie primarily in the development of statistical methods for the analysis of high-dimensional complex datasets, particularly in the fields of biology, health, and medicine. She focuses on modeling cyber-security data sources and developing techniques for anomaly detection. In her academic role, she serves as the Director of Taught Postgraduate Studies in the Department of Mathematics. Marina is an active member of the Royal Statistical Society, where she chairs the Emerging Applications Section committee, and she is also involved in the scientific committee for the BioInference conference. With extensive experience in statistical analysis, she has held various positions at Imperial College London, including Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in Statistics, as well as Research Associate and Statistician.
