Biography

Dr. Marina Feric, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Penn State University, leads a research group focused on understanding the principles of cellular organization and how disruptions contribute to aging and age-related diseases. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, where she investigated the biophysics of membraneless organelles, known as biomolecular condensates. Dr. Feric completed postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health National Cancer Institute, supported by an NIGMS PRAT fellowship, extending her research on human aging. Her lab employs advanced super-resolution light microscopy techniques for quantitative analyses of biomolecules and droplet-like structures, working to illuminate the mechanisms by which cells maintain organization and activity over time. This work aims to offer new strategies for improving health spans and treating age-related conditions.
