Marina Frasca-Spada was born and educated in Rome, Italy. She completed her degree (Laurea, equivalent to an MA) in Philosophy at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and earned her PhD at the University of Cambridge. Her publications include "Space Self Hume's Treatise" (Cambridge, 1998, paperback 2000), co-editing "Books Sciences History" (with N. Jardine, Cambridge, 2000), and "Impressions Hume" (with P.J.E. She is an Affiliated Lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy and the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at Cambridge. Her current research interests are focused on metaphysics, philosophy of science, modern aesthetics, and studies in the eighteenth century, with a particular emphasis on the history of modern philosophy from Descartes to Kant. Her long-term research involves studying Hume and Kant's perspectives on human nature and experience. Since 2007, she has served as Senior Tutor at Corpus Christi College and was the Associate Secretary of the Senior Tutors Committee from 2016 to 2020, and she currently holds the position of Chair.
