Biography

Marina Halac is the Stanley B. Resor Professor of Economics at Yale University. She specializes in game theory, contract theory, and mechanism design. Halac received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009. Before her tenure at Yale, she was on the faculty at Columbia University and the University of Warwick, and she has had visiting positions at the University of Chicago. Halac currently serves as an editor for Econometrica and has been a coeditor for the journal as well as an editorial board member for several economics journals. She is affiliated with the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics and was the Director from 2020 to 2023. Halac is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Academia Nacional de Ciencias Económicas in Argentina. She is also a fellow of the Econometric Society and the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, as well as the Centre for Economic Policy Research. Halac has received various prizes for her teaching and research, including the Elaine Bennett Research Prize from the American Economic Association.
