Marina Skiba has over 30 years of experience in clinical research with expertise in protocol development, ethics submissions, and data management project coordination. Her work spans a broad spectrum of research types including early and late-phase interventional trials, mechanistic research, and community-based observational studies. Marina has been a pivotal member of the SPHPM since 1996, holding various roles including Regulatory Affairs Manager for Clinical Pharmacology at Alfred Hospital/Monash University, where she provided support to researchers, honours PhD students, and visiting academics. She is a founding member of the SPHPM Research Governance Committee and played a critical role as Research Governance Manager from 2010 to 2025, overseeing annual self-audits and contributing to research governance, ethics education, and training for clinical trials. Notably, Marina has contributed to the establishment of a Code of Conduct for Health Research in Sri Lanka and a Research Governance Strategy in 2019. Currently, she serves as the Clinical Trials Governance Manager at the Monash University Clinical Trials Centre, where she plays a key role in education, training, and the development of micro-credentialled short courses and postgraduate programs related to clinical trials.
