Biography

Mario Trapp holds the chair in Engineering Resilient Cognitive Systems at the Technical University of Munich and serves as the executive director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems in Munich. His research focuses on engineering resilient cognitive systems, emphasizing model-based safety engineering and self-adaptive software systems. He has extensive experience in successfully transferring foundational research into industrial practice. Trapp has held the chair at the Faculty of Computer Science since 2022. He studied Technoinformatics at TU Kaiserslautern and was awarded a PhD with distinction in 2005. In 2016, he completed his habilitation at TU Kaiserslautern and was appointed as an adjunct professor in the Department of Computer Science in 2018. His publications include work on safety assurance in open adaptive systems and component-based modeling for safety-critical systems.
