Maris Boyd Gillette is a professor of anthropology at the University of Gothenburg, where he researches the intersections of capitalist processes, group identities, material culture, and economic practices. His ongoing research covers a range of topics, including alternative food networks and the impacts of tourism, as well as the legal and social implications of small-scale fisheries in Sweden.
