Biography

Marisa Miraldo is a Professor of Health Economics in the Department of Economics and Public Policy at Imperial Business School and serves as Co-Director of the School of Convergence Science in Health and Technology. She is the Academic Director for the MSc Global Health Management program. Marisa's research focuses on behavioral interventions that promote health and well-being, as well as healthcare innovation. She leads a team of 11 researchers on international research projects, focusing on primary prevention in the Global Health Research Unit targeting diabetes and cardiovascular diseases among South Asians. Additionally, she works on behavioral change interventions through the Jameel Institute-Kenneth C. Griffin Initiative Economics Pandemic Preparedness. Marisa is also involved in women's health initiatives and serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Behavioural Experimental Economics, along with being on the editorial board of BMJ Public Health and BMC Medicine. She has held prior academic positions at the Centre for Health Economics and the Department of Economics and Related Studies at the University of York and is a fellow of the Imperial College Data Science Institute. Marisa is a strong advocate for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), having chaired the EDI Committee at the Business School and founded the Gender Equity Committee.
