Biography

Marius Florin Niculescu joined the Georgia Institute of Technology Scheller College of Business in the fall of 2009 after completing his Ph.D. in Operations and Information Technology at Stanford Graduate School of Business. His research focuses on cybersecurity, economics of information systems, digital sustainability, software freemium strategies, network economics, platform innovation, and cloud computing. Throughout his academic career, Niculescu has published work in leading journals such as Management Science and Information Systems Research, and presented his findings at numerous academic conferences. He has received several prestigious awards including the ISS Sandra Slaughter Early Career Award and the AIS Publication of the Year Award. In recognition of his teaching excellence, he has been honored with multiple awards including the Brady Family Award for Faculty Teaching Excellence and the CETL/BP America Junior Faculty Teaching Award. Niculescu currently serves as a Senior Editor for Production Operations Management and has held editorial positions in notable journals. He has also contributed as an academic director for various executive education programs and has served in leadership roles within professional organizations such as INFORMS.
