Biography

Mariuxi Manukyan, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, specializing in Trauma Surgery within the Division of Acute Care Surgery. Her clinical expertise spans critical care, general surgery, and trauma. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Dr. Manukyan completed her fellowship in Acute Care Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Texas Medical Center in Houston. She earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University and her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Manukyan completed her residency in General Surgery at Indiana University Health Hospitals and has undergone additional fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Association of Academic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. Her research interests focus on geriatric trauma, particularly on identifying specific risks associated with the geriatric trauma population and developing in-hospital strategies to reduce morbidity and mortality among these patients.
