Biography

I’m Marjan Bakker, assistant professor in the Methods and Statistics department at Tilburg University. My aim is to improve science by investigating problems and possible solutions. My research focuses on reporting errors, questionable research practices, statistical power, outliers in data, publication bias, and preregistration methodologies. I am currently involved in larger projects, including a preregistration project to replicate Mahoney’s seminal study on publication bias, for which I received an NWO replication grant. Additionally, I teach courses on regression analysis for psychology students at the bachelor level and multilevel analysis for students in the research master's program. I enjoy collaborating with researchers from different departments to further advance our understanding in these areas.
