Biography

Mark Allen is a thought leader in future media practices in Canada, focusing on the impact of media on consumers, businesses, and public policy. With 20 years of experience, he has held various advisory roles on boards and served on numerous industry committees, working across both private and public sectors. Mark is passionate about public speaking and has extensive experience communicating complex ideas in accessible ways. His professional achievements include co-authoring 'Harnessing Change: Future Programming Distribution Canada,' which contributed to the modernization of communications legislation, and founding the Media Technology Monitor (MTM), aimed at understanding the adoption and use of media communication technologies. In addition to his professional endeavors, Mark is an active member of the alpine skiing community, serving as a parent chair and videographer for competitive alpine skiers, and is a member of the Camp Fortune Ski Club. He has been teaching part-time in the Communications program at Carleton University since 2001, after graduating with a Master’s degree from the same institution in 1998.
