Biography

Mark Brouard is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oxford and a Fellow Tutor at Jesus College. He studied Chemistry at Wadham College and completed his DPhil at Linacre College under the supervision of Professor MJ Pilling. Following his doctoral studies, he moved to the University of Nottingham as a post-doctoral researcher under Professor John Simons FRS, where he became a lecturer in 1989 before returning to Oxford in 1993. He has been recognized for his contributions to the field, receiving the Chemical Dynamics Award from the Royal Society of Chemistry. Brouard has held leadership roles within the Department, including Head of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry in 2011 and Head of the Department of Chemistry from 2015 to 2023.
