Dr. Mark Burge

Biography

Mark Edwin Burge is a Professor of Law at Texas A&M University School of Law, where he has been a faculty member since 2017. He holds a J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. in History, summa cum laude, from the University of Houston. Burge has extensive teaching experience in business and corporate law, contract law, and legal pedagogy. His professional career spans over eight years in private practice, where he specialized in business and commercial litigation, particularly in representing financial institutions against fraud schemes. Burge emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning in law and preparing students for evolving legal practices in the age of technology, advocating for skills that enhance client value. He finds joy in teaching law and engaging with students in stimulating classroom discussions about complex legal issues.
