Biography

Mark is passionate about transformational change for individuals, organisations, and communities. He provides consulting, facilitation, executive coaching, and group coaching support for people grappling with leadership challenges, complexity, and conflict, with a focus on developing individual and collective capabilities to become high-performing teams. Mark has 30 years of experience working with governments, NGOs, the Olympic movement, and in corporate law within the private sector across the UK, India, Iraq, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Papua New Guinea, and Jordan. He served as CEO of Generations Peace, a global peacebuilding organisation, for 12 years, overseeing 22,916 peacebuilders in 52 countries. His career began as a corporate lawyer in the UK and India, and he has held significant roles in the British Army and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. He was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his work in Iraq from 2003 to 2005 and received the United States Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service in 2004. Recognized as CEO of the Year in 2022 by CEO Monthly, he also received the Peacemaker Award from Brigham Young University's Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution. Mark graduated magna cum laude from the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School and holds advanced degrees from HEC Paris, Université Lyon 1, the University of Edinburgh, and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He is actively involved in various leadership and conflict resolution initiatives, bringing expertise in systems thinking and collaborative leadership.
