Biography

Mark S. Cohen serves as the Dean of the Carle Illinois College of Medicine and holds the title of Senior Vice President and Chief Academic Officer for Carle Health. He is a practicing surgical oncologist and an endocrine surgeon with a tenure at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. As a tenured professor, he has a dual appointment as a Founder Professor in the Grainger College of Engineering, specifically within the Department of Bioengineering, and at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology. Cohen is a distinguished speaker, has multiple leadership roles within medical and surgical societies, and has received numerous awards for his contributions to biomedical innovation and surgical technology education.
