Dr. Mark Darling

Biography

Mark Darling is a faculty member in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Western University. He specializes in oral pathology and oral medicine, holding advanced degrees including MSc in Dental from the University of the West Cape, South Africa, MSc in Medicine from the University of London, U.K., and MChD in Oral Pathology from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. In addition to his role at Western University, he is an adjunct professor at the University of Malaya, contributing to their Fellowship Program in Advanced Oral Pathology. His clinical activities involve daily microscopic diagnosis of oral diseases, whereas his research interests include human kallikrein expression in salivary gland carcinomas, the role of osteopontin in salivary gland carcinomas, chronic hyperplastic candidiasis, and biomarkers for oral cancer. He is actively engaged in both clinical and research activities, focusing on salivary gland tumors and related mucocutaneous diseases.
