Mark Ernst is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Medicine. He holds an MD and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He further specialized by completing a Sports Medicine Shoulder Knee Fellowship at the University of Calgary Sports Medicine Centre in 1998 and earned a Diploma in Sports Medicine in 1999. He is an active member of the Canadian Academy of Sports Medicine.
