Biography

Mark Ernst is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Medicine. He holds an MD and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Ernst has a clinical focus on arthroscopic surgery, particularly of the knee and shoulder, as well as ligament reconstruction and athletic-related injuries. In addition to his academic and clinical roles, he serves as an orthopedic consultant for several sports teams, including the Saskatoon Blades (Western Hockey League), Saskatoon Hilltops (Canadian Junior Football League), University of Saskatchewan Huskies, and Saskatchewan Rush Lacrosse Team. Dr. Ernst graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine, and completed his orthopedic residency there in 1997. He further specialized by completing a Sports Medicine Shoulder Knee Fellowship at the University of Calgary Sports Medicine Centre in 1998 and earned a Diploma in Sports Medicine in 1999. He is an active member of the Canadian Academy of Sports Medicine.
