Dr. Mark Forbes

Biography

Mark Forbes is a Chancellor's Professor in the Department of Biology at Carleton University. He holds an M.Sc. from Western University and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. His research primarily focuses on evolutionary ecology, with a particular emphasis on parasite-host-stress interactions and intraspecific variation in ecological behavior. Throughout his career, Forbes has collaborated with numerous students and researchers, evaluating environmental stress measures in animals and the effects of stress and parasitism on individuals and populations. His work includes exploring the dynamics of insect-parasite interactions, understanding the evolution of polymorphism in insect populations, and studying the ecology of key prey species in intertidal ecosystems. In addition to his research, Forbes is committed to wildlife conservation and has a variety of selected publications that contribute to the understanding of ecological and evolutionary processes.
